Fixed, good as new; sliding door repair

As Dan said, we try to do some of our own maintenance on our 5th wheels. My V-cross has a sliding door for the bedroom. About 18 months ago, I forgot to fasten to sliding door in the open position. During the drive to the campground, the sliding door must have slammed around a lot. When we got to the campground, the sliding door was off it’s track and the track was pulling away from the ceiling. The door was stuck in the open position and unable to close.

When we got home, I fixed the door, I thought. But the next trip out, while driving to the campground, the door track pulled away from the ceiling again even though the door was fastened in the open position. Again, the door was stuck in the open position and unable to close.

Again, when we got home, I fixed the door, I thought. But the next trip out, while driving to the first campground, the repair job failed and the door was unusable. We spent a 3 week trip not being able to close the bedroom door.

I did not fix the sliding door again. Instead, I installed a curtain rod and curtain. And it works great.  Fixed, good as new.
